Between undergrad and grad school were a couple of years of intense communal and individual activity with the loose artist collective Student Bolsheviks . This involved a lot of group shows, the production of zines, performances, radio shows, and Mannlicher Carcano happenings, but primarily a great deal of painting and other object-making. Much of this work wound up in the Retrospective show in 1991, but the work created in my first year in LA - when MA was in grad school and I wasn't - is also included here."
